ELGIN, Ill. - Ego Inc., the leading innovator in GPS technology for the golf industry, announced this week the opening of its new headquarters in Elgin, Ill. The offices are located at 2205 Point Blvd., Suite 195, and are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The new location is home to the company's research and development division, as well as its Midwest sales representatives and executive management team, led by Chief Executive Officer Doug Coker.
"We keep an aggressive pace in research and development. We constantly are customizing and upgrading our software and devices to be more responsive to what the golf industry wants and needs," Coker said. "Centralizing our R&D staff in a location that could handle our technology needs was critical to keeping that pace."
Ego Inc. invented and then successfully launched the Ego system to private clubs and resorts across the country more than two years ago. The system is centered on a handheld device called the Ego Pocket", which uses proprietary applications and DGPS technology to provide unmatched precision on the course, as well as collecting comprehensive data about each player and every round. Course managers, tournament operators and players in the U.S., Sweden, Germany and Malaysia are using the system to save time and money, Coker said.
"Our system gives new meaning to the relationship between better golf and the bottom line," he said. "The more a course knows about its players, the better it can serve them and lower it can keep its costs.
"Our system is a partner in that process." For more information about Ego Inc., the Ego system and the Ego Pocket" device, visit www.egogolfusa.com or contact Doug Coker at (630) 948-1945.
